How to Create an Email Alias or Forwarder in cPanel

Creating an email alias or forwarder allows you to direct emails from one address to another without needing to manage multiple inboxes. Follow these simple steps to set up an email forwarder in cPanel:

Step-by-Step Guide to Create an Email Forwarder

  1. Log in to cPanel
Start by logging into your cPanel account.

  2. Access Forwarders
In the cPanel dashboard, locate and click on the Forwarders option. This section allows you to manage your email forwarding settings.

  3. Add a New Forwarder
Click on the Add Forwarder button to begin the process.

  4. Enter the Email Address to Forward From
In the Address to Forward field, enter the part of the email address you want to forward. You do not need to include the domain name. For example, if you want to forward emails sent to enquiries@yourdomain.com, simply enter enquiries.

  5. Select the Domain
From the drop-down list, select the domain for the email address if it is not already selected.

  6. Enter the Forwarding Email Address
Under Forward to Email Address, input the full email address where you want to receive the forwarded emails (e.g., newaddress@mydomain.com).

  7. Complete the Process
Click the Add Forwarder button to finalize the setup.

Confirmation

Your email forwarder is now created! Emails sent to the specified address will automatically be forwarded to the designated email address.

Benefits of Using Email Forwarders

  • Streamlined Communication: Forwarders help you manage communication efficiently by directing emails to a single inbox.
  • Professional Appearance: You can create multiple aliases that reflect your business, enhancing your professional image.
  • Reduced Inbox Clutter: Instead of managing multiple email accounts, you can consolidate messages into one account.
